Home Energy Challenge

Hawaiian Electric Company and the Hawaii State Department of Education celebrate the Home Energy Challenge’s 6th year and public schools on Oahu are encouraged to join!  Prizes include $10,000, $6,000 and $3,000 to the schools whose families reduce the most energy use between October and March.  It’s on a percentage scale so every school, big or small are on a level playing field.  Students learn about conserving energy while helping the environment and their families.

Additionally, schools wishing to create an Energy Conservation Project can win an extra $1,000.  Four prizes of $1,000 will be awarded!

The Coordinator's Notebook, including the official program rules and time line, can be found here.
