Innovative Solutions Through Electrotechnology
HECO is committed to finding innovative customer solutions through the use of efficient, environmentally-friendly electrotechnologies. Assisted by our membership in the Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI), HECO continuously monitors electrotechnology developments applicable to Hawaii's businesses and government agencies. Through EPRI, HECO also co-funds research and development projects involving local customers.

FACT: HECO designed, implemented, and supported the first private sector ice storage air conditioning system at Iolani School.
FACT: HECO participated in long-term demonstration projects at several local dairy farms, significantly improving energy efficiency and milk quality while improving reliability of the customer's operations.
