1.

Q.

Earlier today, on Thursday, September 2, 2008, HECO filed with the Public Utilities Commission term sheets for the following three "grandfathered" energy projects:  (a) 30 MW wind farm in Kahuku; (b) 6.2 MW steam turbine generator in Campbell Industrial Park; and (c) 100 MW ocean thermal energy conversion facility at the Kahe Point area.

What impact does HECO anticipate these three projects, or any of them, having upon this RFP for 100 MW of renewable energy?  Additionally, does HECO anticipate these projects, or any of them, diminishing the amount of energy HECO is seeking or is willing to accept?

A.

There are no changes to the RFP resulting from the term sheets agreed to with the grandfathered projects.  HECO still plans to seek to acquire approximately 100 MW of renewable energy through this RFP.

2.

Q.

In that grandfathered system would provide over 100MW in power production, what is the remaining capacity of the generation that HECO would accept in this RFP?

A.
