Kohala High School

On April 4, 2008, Kohala High School became the twenty-seventh (sixth on the Big Island) school to receive a Sun Power for Schools photovoltaic (PV) system. The 1-kilowatt PV system was installed on the walkway roof of Building C and will provide power to the school.

System Details:

1.05 kilowatt (kW) rated peak

Six (6) Sharp NT-175U1 175-watt mono-crystalline modules

 • 

Sunny Boy 1800U inverter

 • 

AC and DC Disconnects

 • 

Sunny WebBox internet based data acquisition system (wind speed, PV output, irradiance, ambient air temperature, kWh meter)

HELCO and the DOE are currently working on getting the internet based data acquisition system running.  Please check back later for a link to the school’s data files.
